PGA Professional Thomas Bell Joins Swanston Golf Academy!
We are thrilled to announce that Thomas Bell will be joining the Swanston Golf Academy team starting December 2nd! Coming to us from Gullane Golf Club, Thomas is a fully qualified PGA Professional with a true passion for coaching and a commitment to helping golfers of all abilities improve their game.
A Bit About Thomas
At just 25 years old, Thomas will take over the beginner adult sessions previously delivered by Alan Watt. Thomas’ dedication to professional development speaks volumes about his ambitions as a coach. Thomas is currently enrolled in Hugh Marr's Coach Mastery Programme, reflecting his commitment to continuous improvement.
Thomas has a solid foundation in golf, having completed his DipHE Professional Golf PGA from the University of the Highlands and Islands. His professional journey has equipped him with extensive experience in customer service, communication, and coaching systems for golfers of all ages. Thomas has worked in various roles, including PGA Assistant Professional at Gullane Golf Club, where he managed daily operations, conducted golf lessons, and assisted with junior coaching.
Coaching Philosophy
Thomas is particularly keen to work with adult mid-handicap and beginner golfers. His focus will be on creating a supportive and engaging environment for those looking to improve their skills and enjoy the game. His friendly, calm and approachable nature ensures that every lesson is not just educational but also enjoyable.
Trained under industry-respected coach David Torrence, Thomas has developed a deep understanding of setup principles and how they can affect a golfer's movement in their swing. This knowledge will play a significant role in his coaching approach.
