Play 9 - Score 36, Season 2 Tees Off Welcoming 14 New Play 9ers!
Welcome back! We had a great start to Season 2 of Play 9 - Score 36!
We had 28 keen participants, with a whopping 14 being new Play 9ers joining us for their first ever event! Thank you for showing up and for trying something new.
It was encouraging to see that over half of our participants this event were female - we’re looking to get Girls and Ladies into Golf and it’s great to see female role models joining our events!
Coaches Aran Sinclair and Mike McNally were out on the course to catch players and provide some helpful tips along the holes.
Great news that 16 individuals achieved par 36 or better and have advanced to the next level for event 2.
Shout out to Hazel Rae who joined us for the first time and won the Lowest Adult Score with a brilliant 29 (-7 under par). We welcomed back Gregor Mccrum who won a very close Closest to the Pin competition.
Huge congratulations to Stuart Kirchin for once again winning the Lowest Junior Score (U18) with a score of 34 (-2 under par). His dedication to the events, coaching and practice now sees him advancing to Level 5.
Richard Hook, Chris Robinson, Carol Robinson & Hazel Rae secured the prize for the Lowest Team Score with an average of 34.25.
Beat the Pro
Coach Mike McNally ran a Beat the Pro challenge on the first tee. Mike hit 1 shot to kick off the shotgun start BUT, didn’t quite make the green! Even Pros miss greens! The excitement then started as players only needed to hit the green on the first hole to Beat the Pro.
Congratulations to our Beat the Pro winners: Jason Caruana, Chris Robison, Hazel Rae, Gregor Mccrum, Henry MaQuinad, Ken Wong, Harris Gee - Lang, Amy Cox, Keira Estela Keicher-Alanis, Sarah Henderson, James Henderson, Jan Roberts, Anna Wroblewska, Angela Connelly & Olga Maksimova.
